  • To keep your flex-cord and bead jewelry looking great, you’ll want to treat it with a little extra care. Here’s what you should know:

Keep it dry: Flex-cord is pretty tough, but water and soap can wear down the rubber over time or get trapped inside the hollow core, which might make it cloudy or less flexible. Take your jewelry off before showering, swimming, or washing your hands.

Store carefully: Because flex-cord has a wire inside, avoid bending it sharply or twisting it into tight knots—this can kink the wire and make the cord lose its shape. Lay your jewelry flat in a box or hang it up so it keeps its natural curve.

Avoid chemicals: Perfume, lotions, sunscreen, and cleaning products can break down both the rubber exterior and the wire core. Put your jewelry on last, after you’re done with sprays or creams, and wipe it down with a soft, dry cloth after wearing.

Clean gently: If your jewelry gets dirty, just wipe it gently with a damp cloth (not soaked) and dry it right away. Don’t use harsh cleaners or soak it in water.

Watch the stretch: Flex-cord has a bit of give, but don’t overstretch it. Pulling too hard can weaken the rubber or cause it to lose its shape.

With these tips, your jewelry should stay stylish and flexible for a long time.
